Mark was a wonderful guide and helped us find almost every bird on our long list. He also offered a wonderful window into the local culture and an impressive general knowledge about the local fauna and flora. He further offered great tips about other activities and places to explore. Highly recommended!

A great 5 hour climb up from Camps Bay, past the reservoirs on Back Mountain. Stopped for a hot drink (thank you Mark) before heading the last 1/3rd of the trip through Echo Valley to the cable car. The fauna and flora and knowledge passed the time and helped with the ascent. Which was very comfortable and engaging for both a 55 yr old and a 17 year old. We will be back to enjoy more guided walking tours. Thank you.

I did a full day Cape Point excursion with Justin and it was fantastic. After sharing my interest in exploring native plants, he tailored the day to focus on flora and offered an unparalleled guide experience. His immense knowledge of local ecology was exactly what I was looking for, and we had many great discussions about my fynbos landscape questions. Justin was born and raised in the area and his passion for this place his home shines through in brilliant ways. Incredibly grateful that I got to meet him and my tour of the Cape peninsula was a highlight of trip.

We did two tours with Mark – one birding focused and one for wine tasting - and loved them both! Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and personable and is a wonderful host. He came highly recommended and we could see why. In addition to seeing so many amazing birds and drinking some very good wine, we got to see an array of stunning scenery and learn about the ecosystem, culture and history of the area. Mark has such broad and deep knowledge of the area that he can adjust and tailor your experience on the fly and offer an amazingly wide range of different experiences. I wish we had had time to spend another week or two with him doing other things – for example getting further out on some of the trails – he seems to been out on every one of them in South Africa! In short, spending a couple of days with Mark was an absolute delight – we can’t wait for our next trip to Cape Town so we can do more!

My spouse and I had a wonderful hike up Skeleton Gorge (down via cable car) with Justin in late September. Justin’s incredible command of the flora and fauna is matched by his enthusiasm for sharing information about South Africa and Cape Town. He’s flexible, accommodating and always helpful. Can’t wait to return.
